1^st stage of the second Republic of Belarus NOC Open Jeep Trials Cup started on April 12 in Staiki (“Leninskoye” Qarry), organized by the Off-Road Motor Vehicle Tournaments of the Belarusian Motor Vehicle Federation and “Vnedorozhnik” (“Off-Roadster”) Club. For the second year running, the company “Yarovit” assists in organizing jeep trial events.

In accordance with the Schedule, the first tournament day was dedicated to classical trials. Boggy soil and complicated track sections put the racers into considerable risks and made them fight for each centimeter of road without sparing their vehicles. It was in trial that the spectators and specialists could evaluate all the fortes and shortcomings of the jeeps in terms of endurance. On the second day, carrousel race was launched. Four times the crews in Categories B1 and B2 made their starts on 5-lap distances. Some tried to make good the time lost in the trials, others, on the contrary, avoided risks so as to keep their hard-won advantage. The crew of “Yarovit” company, Andrei Birukov / Dmitri Kniga (known to amateurs of the sport from truck trials) became indisputable leaders. Their Mitsubishi Pajero flew along the race track lap by lap and showed the day’s best time. Vladimir Tupenkin and Konstantin Kuptsov (Mitsubishi Pajero) finished the second in Category B1, however, absence of the Russian crew on the first day nullified the possibility for the guests to take part in the fight for the tournament prizes resultant from the two-day event. Third place in Category B1 went to the crew of Mikhail Gretchikha/Konstantin Volodko.

Vyacheslav Shilenkov and Serguei Gorely became winners of the carrousel race in Category B2. The duet of Andrei Husak / Valeri Yermolinsky (Nissan Patrol) took the second place and the crew of Alexander Varaksa / Alexander Lifanov (Nissan Patrol), the third place.

 

 

Resultant from the two days of the tournament, the following crews emerged as winners and awardees of the first stage of the 2^nd Republic of Belarus NOC Open Jeep Trials Cup:
