News / 23 August 200421-22 August: racing crew of A.Birukov/D.Kniga takes part in 3rd Open Jeep Trials Cup of Republic of Belarus NOC as part of the team YAROVIT-ROSAGROLEASINGOn August 21-22, the 3rd stage of the Third Republic of Belarus National Olympic Committee Open jeep trials Cup took place in Zhodino, dedicated to 60th anniversary of liberation of the Republic from the German Nazi invaders. 18 crews lined up at the event starting line. Throughout the two tournament days, the crews have been fighting with each other, the weather and the rather complex track. On Sunday, traditionally, the carrousel race was launched. Four times the crews in categories B1 and B2 started off on 8-lap distances. Some crews tried to make up for the points lost in the trials, others, on the contrary, avoided the risks and tried to keep their hard-won advantage. Somersaults could not be avoided. The crew of Serguei Zhechko / Serguei Gritsanchuk failed to take in the terrain and, barely after starting off, tipped over on the vehicle side. The crew of YAROVIT-ROSAGROLEASING Andrei Birukov / Vladimir Khomaneyev became indisputable leaders of the speed race. Andrei Birukov’s crew riding aMitsubishi Pajero really flew above the track lap by lap and showed the best time of the day. All in all, only four crews in Category B1 succeeded negotiating more than half of the track distance.
The awarding ceremony and the traditional shower of champagne for winners of the 3rd stage happened under rain. Yet, caprices of weather could not mar the general sentiment that the sporting festivity created. Resultant from the two days of competing, the following crews took their places on the podium: Category Â1 1place 34 Rimoshevski Gennadi / Skachkov Stanislav— GAZ-69 1place 77 Dydyshko Alexander / Dydyshko Roman— GAZ-69 1place 35 Altartsev Anton / Kissel Leonid— UAZ-469B Schedules of the Cup and other tournaments, the results, rules for accreditation, all additional information of the Club “Vnedorozhnik” features at the web-address http://www.4x4.by.com/ All news | 2006 | 2005 | 2004 |
