Second Republic of Belarus National Olympic Committee Open Jeep Trials Cup over

The 2nd Open Jeep Trials Cup of the Republic of Belarus National Olympic Committee is over.

On November 7-8, the “French Hillock” tank training field saw the closing fifth stage of the 2nd Open Jeep Trials Cup organized by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus. 18 crews gathered in the town of Borisov so as to select the strongest one in this season.

Around three and a half thousand spectators and fans visited the “French Hillock” tank driving field during the first day of the cup. They witnessed a truly engrossing trial show. The referees had prepared practically un-negotiable sections, calculated to eliminate all but the most hardy and enduring ones by close of the first day. However, all the participants demonstrated a real sporty spirit from the very first meters of the race – they fought, they took risks, they made and remedied mistakes and slips, giving a hard time to their jeeps.

In Category B1 the classic trial race saw 7 vehicles as leaders. Within one day the participants passed 4 sections, and the hard-won first place came in possession of the Russian crew bearing No 10 (Vladimir Tupenkin/Andrei Neshin).

In Category B2, 6 crews faced passing 4 sections. The best performance was demonstrated by Sergei Zvezdny/Andrei Maximovich.

A lot of hardships befell the participants in the Hobby Category again. The first place in the trial discipline, and thus the first place overall in the stage, was won by Crew No 34 (Gennadi Rimoshevski/Stanislav Skachkov).

13 crews lined up at the start of the carrousel race on Saturday. The first 4 laps showed the hardest fight for leadership. In Category B1 Friedemann Kuehenmeister and Grigory Kamenyuk stood hard and would not cede to the acknowledged favorites of carrousel races Andrei Birukov and Dmitry Kniga. However, the breakdown of the Belarusian-German team jeep prevented them from continuing the keeping-abreast competition, as they had to quit the track and pass the second lap. Having demonstrated wonders of designer and car mechanics ingenuity, No 11 crew re-stared in the third and fourth laps. Meanwhile, crew No 33 having rid themselves of the toughest competitor, continued and reached the finish at a good pace. Goods results were shown by crews of the ROSAGROLEASING team (Valdimir Tupenkin/Andrei Neshin and Leonid Novitski/Oleg Tupenkin), who divided the second and third places in the carrousel race.

In Category B2 the race was won by crew No 77 comprising Alexander Dydyshko and Sergei Vassiliev.
