Component parts of the vehicles are supplied by the companies Caterpillar, Bosch, Hella, Deutz, Sisu Axles.

Production capacity to step up

The CJSC “PC “YAROVIT Motors” intends to manufacture three-axle dump trucks of 27-ton payload and three-,four- and five-axle trucks carrying up to 52 tons. In 2005, the company plans to sell around 250 vehicles. By the year 2009 the plant planned capacity will be stepped up to 1800 trucks annually. Yesterday, “YAROVIT Motors” made a presentation of the Gloros dump truck of 35-ton payload. The works will also put out two other models, Dogmus andOrdex. The vehicles will be used in road-construction, forestry, oil-and-gas and mining industries.

The price of one truck stands at $130-160 thousand. “Around 40% of trucks assembled by “YAROVIT Motors” will be for leasing of 2-3 years”, - says Alexander Samolazov, Director General of CJSC “PC “YAROVIT Motors”.

Stepping up the production of trucks will become possible due to expansion of the production site in Feodossiyskaya street up to 4.5 thousand sq.m. The new facilities erected will include a shop for vehicle debugging and acceptance, maintenance, washing and chassis-painting posts. In 2006 “YAROVIT Motors” plans to additionally set up a facility putting out spare parts in one of the suburbs of Saint Petersburg. “Eventually, we count on taking over around 10% of the local market”, - said Andrei Birukov, President of “YAROVIT” Group of Companies. The producers MAZ, KrAZ, Mercedes, Volvo, Scania will be the main competitors to “YAROVIT Motors”.

OPINION OFFERED

Andrei Chursin, Commercial Director of “Scania Russia” Ltd.:
Buyers are not just interested in a truck. Such vehicles need adequate servicing. Every company has, as a rule, its own service stations where it services its truck fleet. If there are no such facilities, the company will face difficulties delivering spare parts and providing after-sale services. And construction of service stations calls for huge investments that will repay within 3-5 years as a minimum.
