The functioning of the system pre-heating the storage battery and the fuel system elements is energized by an outside source prior to starting the engine, or by the truck on-board electric system during movement.

Heavy-duty severe service trucks can be additionally equipped with an automatic electronic transmission control system manufactured by ZF-Steyr. The system provides automatic optimal control over the driving axles and the transfer case lockup and release during movement off the road, as well as controls pressure and inflation of the tires.
