It would be justified to consider the year 1999, when a group of designers was set up to develop a racing truck and prepare it for competitions, as the onset of our road toward the truck that we present today.

The hard and dedicated efforts of the designers to create new units and assemblies of an all-wheel-drive truck have brought rewarding results. The vehicle created has won truck-trial cups and champion titles in Russia, the CIS, and twice in European championships. This is practically a totally new automobile, which inherited only the cab from its prototype.

Our motor sports achievements, the original technical solutions (the transfer case, the guiding driving bridge, the centralized tires inflation system, etc.) have been noticed by foreign investors. Year 2000 saw the starting of talks on our participation in developing a concept and implementing the project of creating a new all-wheel-drive truck filling a vacant niche in Russia’s market.

An important role was attributed to marketing research. The company specialists have carried out a study of the current Russian market, of the competitors, have estimated the need of the market in heavy-duty severe-service trucks, developed a corporate strategy and defined requirements to new trucks. As a result of this work, a business plan was finalized in 2001, which represents a comprehensive feasibility study dealing with the possibility and necessity of setting up a plant manufacturing heavy-duty severe service trucks, and determines the project implementation stages and principal tasks resolved. .

In 2000 the racing team designers’ group was reorganized into a Technical Center (TC). The TC was staffed by highly qualified automotive production engineers from Belarus and Russia, owing to which the spectrum of designer tasks solved was considerably broadened, and extensive work was started to create a new vehicle. Yarovit specialists participated in developing the general concept of the vehicle, the design and technology documentation, as well as in manufacturing the pre-production model and organizing the production.

In 2003, with the aim of implementing the project in Russia, the Closed Joint Stock company “YAROVIT Motors” (Saint Petersburg) was set up. Subject to the agreement with the foreign partners, Yarovit trademark shall serve as the motor-car building project brand and the name of the new trucks (a pertinent licensing agreement was signed for the use of the trade mark).

Further development of the project will encompass setting up production of units and assemblies in cooperation with the world’s automobile-building leaders. Relevant talks have been held and realization of joint projects is promoted with such companies as Terberg, SISU, Axletech, HYVA.
